Snippets of a coming week

This coming week is going to be a rather interesting week I think.  Last week of Term 3.

On Monday Bianca will have her last gymnastics for the term, on Tuesday the kids will have their last swimming for the term, Wednesday morning Bianca and I will head off to Wellington Hospital for her blood test and appointment with her oncologist, then Wedensday evening Bianca has her school production.  Sadly she won't be at the one in the morning because of her hospital appointment, but we are grateful there is another performance in the evening.  We can't exactly postpone or cancel these hospital appointments...  On Thursday Bianca will be playing with her guitar group at the assembly.  And then on Friday will be the last day of school for this term.  And then school holidays.

So far I have not made any big plans for the holidays.  Caitlyn will continue with daycare and we have planned a visit to the Children's Ward at the hospital to help brighten their day a little bit and other than that we'll probably just organise a few play dates with some of Bianca's friends.

Yesterday I was looking at the Christmas trees on display at The Warehouse and don't get me wrong, I love Christmas and everything about Christmas.  I even enjoy listening to Christmas songs (which irritates Terence no end), but I hate the crowds and the hustle and bustle and the rush that goes along with this time of the year.  I think this year is just going to get busier and busier...  I actually want the year to slow down a little bit.  So far Bianca's had a fantastic year at school with an amazing teacher and with the end of the school year not that far away, I must admit I feel rather anxious what next year might bring for Bianca...  But in saying that it is also really exciting that Caitlyn will start big school in February not long after school started for Term 1.

Have you got any special plans for this week and the school holidays?

We are in Spring now and the kids have a school holiday of about 2 weeks before going back for Term 4 and usually we have 4 holidays in a school year with our December / January (Summer) holiday the longest. Schools here start at the beginning of February every year for the new school year.

Next week will certainly be busy. Looking forward to the holidays. I'm sure Bianca will do well next year when the best place for her is sorted out.

We are hoping to go down to Auckland and check out all the viaduct and all the RWC stuff going on on the waterfront :)
