A very special visitor!

Thank you Sam and Sarah for your sponsorship.  Much appreciated!  If you would like to sponsor me, you can do it here.

Am starting to feel really excited about the upcoming event.  So far I am getting some amazing support from local businesses and we will have a number of exciting spot prizes!  One in particular which I should have (hopefully by tomorrow) I might have to look at auctioning off rather, so something I will be thinking about...

This afternoon Bianca and I saw a beautiful Monarch Butterfly visiting our new swan plants.  So cool!  It reminded me of when I did this blog entry way back in 2009 (click here to read).

It was amazing to watch this butterfly as she laid her eggs.  And the kids are extremely excited too.  Caitlyn has already decided what she will name her caterpillars (I hope her daycare friends and teachers will be pleased that the caterpillars will be named after them...).

I tried to take photos of the butterfly as it was flying around, but you don't quite realise just how fast they are.

As you can see, I'm not a very good action shot photographer...

Wow that is so cool. My flatmate has been nagging me to find a swan plant so I might just have to now. The plant labels are very cute too

Jess, you want to get extra swan plants that you keep i.e. inside so that when you have caterpillars you have extra to feed them.

Those are Bianca's plant labels :-)

Thanks for that tip. I'll find some next week and give it a go.

It's an absolute pleasure :)

I think you did a great job getting the action shots of the butterfly - I can never get butterflies in action - but have got some super shots of dragonflies before :)

What a nice surprise from this visitor. We had a ladybug last week in our garden :)
